A LITTLE PLANNING. A LOT OF TAIL WAGGING.
How to give a portrait as a surprise.
A birthday, a housewarming, Christmas, or simply an excellent excuse to celebrate their dog.
1. Start with a photo you have permission to use
Choose one sharp photo with their dog’s eyes, nose and ears visible. A favorite phone photo can work; it does not need to be a studio portrait. Upload up to three photos of the same dog if extra angles help. iPhone HEIC photos are prepared automatically. Our photo-selection guide shows what to look for.
2. Match the character to their sense of humor
Choose George Washington for the Founding Pawther, President Barkington for an Oval Office portrait, Uncle Sam for patriotic flair, or Paul Revere for a ride into history. The illustrated dogs are style examples; the portrait you order features their own dog. All breeds are welcome.
3. Pick a place for it to live
The 11×14 portrait suits a smaller display area; 16×20 gives the portrait more presence; 18×24 makes the biggest statement. Measure the space before choosing. These are artwork dimensions, so allow extra room for the black wood frame. A clear protective front and hanging hardware are included with every portrait.
For a larger gesture, the Presidential Treatment pairs a 16×20 framed portrait with an 11oz mug, ceramic Christmas ornament and 50×60 printed fleece blanket featuring the same dog’s painting. Items may arrive separately. Every offer includes the approved digital portrait.
4. Keep the proof in your inbox
Use your email address at checkout so you can review the portrait before gifting it. A real person directs and checks the AI-assisted artwork. You receive a personal proof and one consolidated revision to the same dog and character. Nothing is printed until you approve. Enter the intended delivery address at checkout; if you want to assemble and wrap the gift yourself, have it delivered to you.
5. Leave time for the personal part
Allow 3–5 business days after payment and a suitable photo for the first proof, plus time for your review or revision. After approval, printing and delivery take approximately 7–14 business days. These stages are separate: the delivery estimate starts after you approve the artwork. Holiday demand can add time, and a specific event arrival date is not guaranteed.
Standard shipping is included within the contiguous 48 United States and Washington, DC. You can cancel for a full refund before your approved artwork is submitted to print. For damage, defects or incorrect items, see our refund policy. Need help with a photo or timing? Contact us before ordering.
